Brief History of the Organization.
UCPTH started as an organization from a vision in 2013 that God laid in the mind of the founder and Executive Director (ED) who through personal loss of his loves ones to violent conflicts has made him to become dedicated to making the world more peaceful and sustainable. In 2013, UCPTH engaged Community, Religious, Women and Youth leaders in the pursuance of sustainable peace by organizing town hall meetings with community members in Kaduna and Plateau States. Our work was mostly supported by community volunteers who share in our vision of making the world a peaceful and a better place to live. In the light of this, we conducted different community based programs in different communities in the above mentioned States. Due to the pressing need for peace by the people in these communities, in 2014 we started some pet projects on Community Dialogue and Mediation in Bassa and Ryom LGAs in Plateau State. Kaura and Zangon Kataf LGAs in Kaduna State. These pet projects created a lot of impact in the lives of the community members where we worked. In 2015, we Conducted series of trainings with the relevant stakeholders in the communities in Kaduna and Plateau States. In 2016, we trained local Mediators and Peace promoters in both the two States. In 2016 to 2017, we embarked on Peacebuilding and Psycho Support Programs in IDP camps with trauma Survivors in Plateau State.
